           In the ever-evolving world of facilities management and property development, staying ahead of the curve with the latest technology is crucial. Recently, we had the privilege of working with a leading facilities management company and a prominent property developer to undertake a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade. This project involved replacing all existing meters (37 in total) with digital MID approved meters, enhancing the accuracy and reliability of their energy monitoring systems.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Challenge
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The client faced several challenges with their metering system, including difficulty obtaining a monthly meter reading in industrial units that have highly hazardous operations ongoing.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Our Solution: Digital MID Approved Meters
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           After an assessment of the client's infrastructure and requirements, we proposed the installation of digital MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) approved meters. MID approved meters are known for their high accuracy, reliability, and compliance with European standards. These meters provide precise energy consumption data, which is essential for effective energy management and cost control along with the ability to receive daily, weekly and monthly meter readings without even attending site. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Implementation
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Our team determined the meters required based on the initial site visit (e.g. 100amp single phase, 100amp three phase and whether a CT was required or not). On the day of a particular meter change the old metered was imaged and the reading documented, the new meters were integrated with the existing energy management system to ensure seamless data flow and monitoring. We conducted rigorous testing to verify the accuracy and functionality of the new meters and provided training to the appropriate person on the use and maintenance of the new meters. We also continued to offer ongoing support to address any issues and ensure smooth operation.

            Thermal imaging cameras for industrial applications are powerful and non-invasive tools for monitoring and diagnosing the condition of electrical and mechanical installations and components. With a thermal imaging camera, you can identify problems early, allowing them to be documented and corrected before becoming more serious and more costly to repair.

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Principles of Thermal Imaging
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The radiation emitted from the surface of an object is a function of the object temperature as described by the Stefan-Boltzmann relationship. The infrared element of the radiation is measured and converted into an equivalent temperature. The thermal image is constructed from a multitude of point measurements taken in sequence whilst scanning the field of view, by representing the point temperature values on a grey or colour scale. Single point infrared measurement devices (radiometers) are also available which give an average temperature value for a target measurement area.

            An inspection and test is the process of checking a circuit is working safely. They are useful to maintain a safe working environment and are sometimes a requirement of your insurance.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           1)     Identify any electrical hazards. Electrical problems can arise at any time and, if unattended, can result in fires, electric shocks, and other dangerous mishaps. It is feasible to see potential problems and fix them before they worsen by routinely inspecting electrical systems.

           2)     Maximise you efficiency. Electrical testing is crucial since it helps to guarantee that electrical systems are performing at their highest level of efficiency. Frequent testing can aid in locating these problems and enable the execution of the required repairs to increase effectiveness and save energy costs.

Fines, legal action, and other sanctions may follow failure to adhere to these criteria. Electrical systems can be frequently tested to make sure they adhere to all applicable standards and norms.

           Upon completion of an inspection and test you will be provide with an EICR report- An Electrical Installation Condition Report. The EICR will provide you with the details that determined the condition of the electrical circuits. If the electrical installation within a premises is deemed unsatisfactory you will require remedial works to get the installation back up to standard. Once the installation is up to standard, it will be retested and a new EICR will be issued.
